Product Description
Soft, light and generously sized at 44" x 92" (approx. 112 x 234 cm), this oversized cotton shawl is made to be styled. Wind it 2-3 times around your neck as an oversized scarf, drape it as a wrap, or style a plain dress for instant polish. Mix and match with a coordinating kurta or modern south asian wear for a look that proudly champions culture and tradition.
The print is intricate and layered. A richly patterned central field of stars, medallions and delicate florals is framed by crisp borders and finished with flowing leaf motifs against a deep indigo ground. Golden olive and black details give the design warmth and depth. Hand-knotted mustard tassels along the ends add a relaxed, finished touch.

The Craft
Ajrakh is one of the world's oldest textile traditions, a block printing art form with centuries of history. These shawls and scarves are made exclusively by Sufiyan Ismail Khatri, a 10th generation master artisan from the Kutch region of Gujarat. Each piece goes through a 16-step process of block printing, resist dyeing, washing and resting the cloth, which demands patience, precision and a deep knowledge of craft. He is widely respected as a guardian of Ajrakh, working to keep this ancient craft alive for future generations.
