5 Reasons to Love Autumn Fashion

Autumn's officially here and while the spiced latte's have been secretly burning a hole in your pocket, you've put away your sandals and wiped the dust of your favourite pair of boots. You've mentally prepared yourself for the dark nights to come and waved goodbye to getting a tan in your lunch hour.  Meanwhile, your social media is awash with Christmas countdowns and you're wondering if you can still shoe-horn a holiday into your work schedule.  There's no denying it - summer has gone!

But you know, there's much to celebrate in the coming months. Cosy nights in cooking hearty suppers, breezy walks amongst the splendour of Autumnal trees and re-runs of your favourite movies. It's that time of the year when it's okay to stay in and hibernate, just a little. Perhaps the biggest change we face is what we wear and this is where we get excited! So here's 5 reasons to love Autumn fashion and celebrate our clothes.

1. Textures and Textiles

Cosy knits, merino wool scarves, pashmina shawls - there's no escaping that we're in touch me textile heaven. This season is perfect for pairing contrasting textures together. Take a look at what fabrics you have in your wardrobe and add contrasting accessories. Think fitted leather jacket with a wool scarf or jeans, a printed cotton top with a wool jacket.

2. Love Layering

I think we instinctively layer clothes. Whether it's out of necessity because of the cold weather or whether we just love that wrapped up feeling. Layering is as much about style as it is about keeping warm. For a smart work outfit, team a sharp tailored suit with a crisp white shirt and add one of our capes. A perfect alternative to a heavy coat that lifts your work outfit to a whole new level. I think the best thing about layering is that you can disguise any winter weight you've put on. With all those hearty meals, scarves and shawls are a great way of hiding that pie you had last night!

3. Statement Jewellery

Jewellery is a must during this season. Maybe because we need more feel good accessories to brighten up those rainy days. Apart from adding texture to your outfit, jewellery completes and enhances an outfit. This season we're celebrating the handmade artistry of our sari necklaces. Though we're not into trends, there seems to be a revival of artisan made products on the catwalk. So our sari necklaces are a must. They're our best sellers and there's a good reason why. They're timeless, versatile, add beautiful colour and are just plain gorgeous!

4. Autumn Colours Are the Best

Deep purples, wines, aubergines, earthy greens, burnt oranges and teals - there's a rich explosion of colour that mirrors natures beauty. Our stunning new range of shawls are a luxurious blend of wild peace silk and merino wool. A stylish addition to any outfit for instant grown-up sophistication.

5. You Can Basically Live In Your Scarf

A scarf is the ultimate accessory everyone wears during this season. You can literally keep it on all day. It keeps you warm, adds colour and style to your clothing and feels like your being permanently hugged! In fact across ancient civilisations and nomadic cultures, textiles have offered protection from the elements and offered a feeling of security. From desert communities to cold mountainous regions, people have used shawls and scarves as a protective layer. Our new scarves are no exception. Made from 100% Merino wool and generous in size, there's no wind this scarf won't protect you from!
